About the Company
Beast, Inc. is a San Francisco-based startup that provides audiences of all ages the experience of pet ownership through a virtual reality (VR) game called Beast Pets. Currently, Beast Pets is available to users on Steam VR and in select VR arcades in North America. The Beast, Inc. team wanted to expand on both of these channels by redesigning their website and ramping up their online presence. In doing so, they can connect with more commercial partners to host their game and reach potential users and encourage gameplay.

CHALLENGE
Redesign company website to be more comprehensive and informative for target audiences, stakeholders and consumers.
Website requirements:
Engage commercial partners (VR arcade owners)
Inform new and existing VR users about the game, updates, and reviews
Design content strategy and visual branding for future of the company
Avoid targeting users under 13 due to child gates
SOLUTION
Create an informative website that excites potential users and commercial partners about Beast Pets. This website will encompass both B2C & B2B goals and introduce new features for both user types.

VISUAL DESIGN
Creating a 2D website for a 3D product. The only way to learn about Beast Pets is to be immersed in the virtual reality experience. This involved multiple iterations within sketches, wireframes, and hi-fi mockups. Below is the final iteration for the website redesign. Features were divided into color blocks and ordered depending on feature prioritization determined by competitive analysis and user interviews.
FUTURE STEPS
My team suggested Beast, Inc. create a mobile version of their website in order to tap users who look for new games and content on their phones. I designed an example of what the first 3 screen could potentially look like to motivate our clients to consider a separate mobile design. This design would be based on the B2C goals of introducing new users to the game.
Potential features:
- Side Global Navigation
- Swipe left/right Secondary Navigation
- Additional Screens: Game Play Locations, Gaming Platforms, Reactions & Reviews, Steam Link & Updates
